Platform & Access

Who can log in to the Admin Console?
Only users invited as Event Producers. Invitations send a secure link that begins the OTP login flow.

Do attendees need an account?
No. End Users join via QR code or room URL and remain anonymous within a session.

Event Preparation

When should audio ingest be tested?
Run a full ingest test during tech rehearsal. Verify levels, translation language availability, and playback quality on multiple devices.

What bandwidth do we need for a show?
Allocate 5Mbps per Room in upstream bandwidth. Wired Ethernet is strongly recommended.

Can we customize the look and feel?
Yes. Upload event logos in the Admin Console. End Users can update font choice and theme (coming soon).

Live Operations

What happens if the USB interface disconnects?
Volo pauses ingest when audio stops arriving. Reconnect the device, reselect it in the Admin Console, and restart the stream. End Users will be returned to the Room's landing page and can re-enter when the stream is back up.

How many languages can we stream simultaneously?
The limit is ten concurrent translation languages per room.

Can attendees replay past captions?
The End User app focuses on live delivery and does not currently offer playback or transcript downloads.

Security & Privacy

Is attendee data stored?
Volo stores aggregated analytics only—no personally identifiable attendee data is captured.

Do OTP codes expire?
Yes. Each OTP is valid for 3 minutes and can be regenerated from the login screen if it expires.

Troubleshooting

Captions look delayed—what should we check first?
Confirm the ingest network connection, look for CPU spikes on the producer laptop, and ensure no additional browser tabs are capturing the microphone.
